Your assignment is to
research a topic and develop a term paper regarding a chosen topic in the
following format:
1. Outline
the topic and your reasons for selecting it
2. Describe
the controversy or problem in detail.
How long has the problem existed, the profession’s ability to
have the problem resolved, and whether there
appears to be a solution to the controversy or problem.
3. Your opinion about the seriousness of the
issue and its ultimate effect on
business and the profession.
The paper should be
approximately 4 to 5 pages. Appropriate
citations should be incorporated into the body of the paper using either an MLA
or APA format. A bibliography page should
be attached. A reliable accounting data
base should be used for research. Also,
the Journal of Accountancy, published by the AICPA and the CPA Journal,
published by the NYSSCPA’s, should also be referenced for information
concerning the topics listed below.
